The Anybus CompactCom M30 for USB is a passive module and functions as a physical layer converter for the USB communication standard. Being a passive Anybus-CompactCom module, no processing is performed on the serial bitstream of the serial host interface to USB and vice versa. It only acts on the physical layer, i.e. no processing is performed on the serial data itself. This module enables a transparent USB channel using the Anybus-CompactCom slot. The module uses the serial channel of the application interface.

COMBINING USB WITH OTHER NETWORKS

The CompactCom 40-series modules support the same APIs as the 30-series Modules. This means, if you are already using or want to combine the USB module with 40-series Industrial Ethernet modules, HMS makes it possible to support both a mixture of CompactCom 30-series and 40-series modules within your industrial device.
